The Other One - 584

Wow, Thanks, My 4 favorite songs didnt make the list. Fire on the Mountain, El Paso, Uncle Johns Band, Friend of the Devil. I really thought El Paso would be a top 5 song.

Well, I've been doing some playing around at setlists.
"Drums" is not listed as a song ( most people would probably agree with that ), but does come up under a search - 1,599 times!
It does point out an inconsistency in their labeling as a search for "space" comes up with 266 results. Apparently the drums/space segment doesn't get that labeling until '91. I think deadbase calls this "Drumz", a search for this at setlists comes up with nothing.
Setlists has "Rhythm Devils" played twice.
"Jam" - 169 times ( I kinda think that's a little short ).
"Seastone" once ( you wish)

Hey Ned, I did this a few years ago and deadlists gives you 1198 shows with "drums" and "space" and just over 1200 for "space" alone. I would agree with Arbuthnot and go with deadlists.com for future searches. MAMU at deadlists was also just over 600.

IKYR has to be a lot more than that. It dates back to some of the first Warlocks gigs.

Deadlists goes back to 3-12-66 for the first Rider. I guess it doesn't count those Warlocks gigs but clearly they played it in those studio demos in Nov '65. Still if the Warlocks first show was 5-5-65 and they became the GD in 12-65 there couldn't that many more.

its funny that china cat and rider have the same exact number of total plays given that they weren't always linked.

The top 5 through 94' in Deadbase were Me and My Uncle 579,Sugar Mag 567,Other One 548,I Know you Rider 526,Not Fade Away 505.Keep in mind that is minus the number of times they played those songs during the 47 or so shows they did in 95', I think they would still be the top 5 but with a few more versions of each song.

You also have to remember all those early shows ( pre 69 , mostly ) that we don't have set lists for .

I saw some list somewhere and MAMU was in the thousands. Someone mentioned they didn't keep track of setlists until after 69 this number could be true!

That seems unlikely. I believe they only played somewhere between 2200-2400 shows and I believe about 1800 of them are archived. So even if we assume that the 600 MAMUs that deadlists and setlists find are only from thise 1800 shows (i don't know if this is true). Then they played it on average 1 out of every 3 shows. Therefore the number could never reach the thousands. Additionally I think this is a song they played a few times real early on ('66) and then dropped for a while until around '69 (LiA had a thread about this recently). I suspect the 600 number is pretty closer to correct.

I realized they played it as early as 66 but didn't know they dropped it for a few yrs., which makes the original # more valid.
